When she learns that her uncle Ike left her a ranch in his will, Blaire Mackenzie travels to Arizona, only to find, to her horror, that the ranch is populated by ostriches, not cows. And, despite her determination to make a good impression on the staff, Blaire can't seem to do anything right. From falling on her face to having her hair pulled by the ostriches, she gives everyone reason to laugh. Ranch manager Burke Dunham finds himself laughing with Blaire one minute and fuming at her the next. He struggles with anger whenever Blaire mentions selling the ranch and moving back to the city. Blair was down and out romantically. Then a tragedy and a chance to rebuild, prompted her to move, to her new property -- with no shopping malls around.
Wanting out as soon as she got in, she was torn. She grew to love those her late uncle loved and selling their "home" didn't seem right.
But sell she was going to do, you no matter how guilty she felt about it.
Then the unwelcomed past came blowing into her new ostrich farm and life. Feelings for a certain dear man, a girl-tall and talk with God.
And she considered taking the bull by the horns...or the ostrich by it's beak...
This novel is about a journey of self discovery, learning from the past, learning to laugh at yourself and enjoying your lemons with whatever sweetener you can find.
It filled with more humour and laughter from the first page to the last, than tears and sadness.
No angst.
It features trusting God and reveals interesting angles to of Psalm 23.
Finding laughter, yourself and love in the journey of faith.
